Business management is the process of individuals’ collective effort to achieve a desired goal. Management consists of planning, organizing, leading and controlling functions. Henri Fayol describes five basic management functions:

Moreover all the alternates of achieving the goal are searched and one best course is adopted which leads to the goal achievement.
Organizing is the business management phase in which all the resources are organized, schedules are prepared and time is managed to achieve the desired goal. In this phase human resources, plans and strategies are organized. It is tried to achieve the goal effectively and efficiently. In the function of leading mangers or supervisors play the role of leaders. They guide employees toward the goal achievement. They not only teach but encourage the workforce to achieve the desired goal.
In the phase of coordination all the plans, strategies and resources are coordinated to reach the goal. Coordination is an important function of business management which combines all the functions to achieve the results. Controlling is the function in which inputs and outputs are analyzed. If the resources are misused then they are controlled because it will affect the output. In this phase of management, achieved results are compared with the expected results. The usage of human, financial, technological and material resources is analyzed. It is an important phase without which there would be no check and balance and you cannot avoid loss.
Business management should be fair with all the employees of the organization. Management should reward its employees when they deserve. There should not be any kind of lack of communication between the management and employees. The management should have strong decision power and control over the situation. Management has to face a variety of problems from staffing, dissatisfaction of customers, product quality issues, efficient utilization of resources and competition with the competitors. It has to solve all the issues inside and outside the organization.
Business management has to deal with the hard and soft parts of the company. The hard parts are technology, hardware and software issues, business processes, controls, plans and the general infrastructure of the organization. The soft parts of the organization are people and those issues which affect them. A good business management has to deal with all these issues to run the process of business smoothly and successfully.
