Carpet Cleaning In Home Methods
Many people with carpets in their home would love to get in a professional cleaning service, but these services are often very expensive and not everyone can afford to get them professionally cleaned on a regular basis. There are, however, a number of great, cost effective and efficient ways to clean your rugs yourself at home! Let us discuss some carpet cleaning in home methods you could try out.
The first method that you can use is by using a specialized carpet shampoo. Such shampoos are readily available at most supermarkets, and you can find ones that are very reasonably priced. These shampoos work by generating a large amount of foam, that then attracts dust and dirt that is deep within the fabric of your carpet.
If you leave the foam to dry overnight, you should then be able to easily vacuum or sweep up the dirt on the surface, leaving your rugs completely clean. When looking for a good quality carpet shampoo, you should try and find one that has high levels of foam. This will prevent the product from wetting the rug too much, since drying out wet rugs can take plenty of time. There are various types of specialized cleaning products, but you should always test the product on an unnoticeable area of your rug so as to check whether there is any negative reaction or possible damage.
You can also use a type of cleaner called an absorbent cleaner. This method uses a fine, dry powder-like substance called an absorbent that is sprinkled onto the rug and then brushed through with a brush. This substance contains small amounts of water and detergents. It acts by attracting and absorbing dust and dirt.
The absorbent can then be vacuumed up, and with it will come all the dirt that has been absorbed, leaving your rugs clean and fresh. A disadvantage to this method is that the rugs need to be very well vacuumed, or there may be residues of powder remaining in the rugs. If you have access to a steam cleaning machine, then steam cleaning is another good way to clean your carpets. This method is able to clean deep into the rug and is probably the most effective method you can use.
It works by squirting a fine spray of hot water or steam into the rug to force dirt out of the carpet, and then suck the dirt and steam up by a vacuum pump in the front of the machine. The steam can also contain detergents to get your rugs extra clean if you add some to the water. This method is an effective one because it does not leave residues of cleaning detergents in the carpet's fabric and it is able to extract dirt from deep within the fibers.
If you have any pets in your home then you should make sure to vacuum your carpet regularly since fur and hair will very likely get tangled up in it. A floor squeegee is also a useful tool for cleaning rugs. If you brush the rug with it the fur and hair will be pushed within the gap between its two strips. This method is especially ideal for rugs which have relatively short fibers.
